Helix had secretly brought experimental genetic material to the newly established colony, intending to adapt local lifeforms for future industrial and military applications. When the containment system failed, the first six mutants escaped into the wild.

Originally a fast native hunter, it was altered by Helix growth stimulants leaked from a research facility. Its crest became highly sensitive to movement and sound, turning it into an aggressive ambush predator. Its claws are its primary weapons.
