Mixamo Bridge — Free Daz Studio Tool
Use Mixamo animations on Genesis 8 & 8.1 figures.
Mixamo can't accept Genesis 8 figures — but it accepts Genesis 2. This
free tool prepares a G2 figure as a carrier, you run any Mixamo
animation through it, and the tool transfers and corrects the result
onto your G8/8.1 figure. The final animation saves as a normal Pose
Preset that works on any G8/8.1 character.
Works in Daz Studio 4.22+ and Daz Studio 6. Tested in both.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Genesis 2 Starter Essentials (free in Daz Install Manager)
- Genesis 8 Starter Essentials
- A free Mixamo account (mixamo.com)
- The G2 and G8 figures must be the SAME SEX (G2F with G8F, G2M with G8M)
HOW IT WORKS (as shown in the video, this is the first time I make a video tutorial I apologize if it sucks)
1. Unzip into your Daz content library — the tool appears under
Scripts > Mixamo Bridge in the Content Library
2. Load your G8 figure and a Genesis 2 base figure (same sex)
3. Run the tool — buttons 1 to 4: verify, A-pose, bake, export FBX
4. Upload the FBX to mixamo.com, apply any animation, download as
FBX BINARY, With Skin, no keyframe reduction
5. Back in Daz: DELETE the G2 figure, then File > Import the
downloaded FBX (check "Include Animation", dropdown: mixamo.com)
6. Select the imported figure > File > Save As > Pose Preset >
ANIMATED RANGE
7. Select your G8, playhead on FRAME 0, apply that preset
8. Run the tool > button 5: Transfer & Fix Joints — done
9. Save the finished animation from the G8 as its own Pose Preset
(Animated Range). That preset now works on any G8/8.1 figure —
you never repeat this process for that animation.
The included README has full troubleshooting for every error message.
